The correct use of whatever language is essential for several reasons; first you don't sound stupid, and if you don't sound stupid, the reader is more likely to believe what you are saying. Secondly it interupts the message, when someone sees 'idiot' spelled 'eliot' they have to stop, and commit mental facilities to decifering the message. There are so many different aspects to communication, it isn't the failure to correctly execute one of them, it is the failure of all or many of them that nullifies a message. Everything matters a little bit, to argue otherwise is futile :)
I'm not an english professor. The people who are writing like english is a 9th language actually have english as a 1st language and constantly brag about their high level educations.
I mispell things too, I never run spell check and I don't re-read what I write for errors. Who will correct me? I welcome you to on anything, I'm not too proud to stand corrected.

In no way shape or form did canada or france or any other nation in the world play as significant of a role as England, the US, or Russia. Anything to the contrary would be an insult to humanity.
